THE SEKHMET SCRIBE – November Edition

Cyber • Blockchain • The Feminine Firewall

November has landed with all the subtlety of a brick through a conservatory roof. Markets wobble, leadership reshuffles keep HR permanently sweating, AI is multiplying like rabbits with GPUs, and cyber-threats are prowling the perimeter like foxes around the bins at 2 a.m.

Under that noise is something undeniable:

A rising wave of female-led tech leadership…………….courageous, clear-thinking and sharp-toothed.

Sekhmet was built for this exact moment.

We exist to:

Protect • Empower • Evolve.

Our approach blends elegant security, purposeful automation and sustainability with substance. Technology does not have to be chaos.

It can be wise. It can be human. It can evolve us.

Welcome to The Sekhmet Scribe.

Cyber Reality Check – November Pulse

• Around 43% of UK businesses experienced a cyber incident this year, nearly half the country politely inconvenienced by someone in a basement hoping you would click a dodgy link.

85% of breaches began with phishing. We have all clicked something we should not have. • Ransomware has roughly doubled. Bad actors… very industrious.

• The average disruptive breach costs is £1,600. Enough for a weekend away, instead you bought paperwork.

• Only 59% of small businesses have a formal cyber-security policy. The rest? Faith-based IT. Bold strategy.

• Half of teams say their tools do not talk to each other. Many dashboards. Zero conversation. Very British.

The vibe: Leaders are more aware but complexity is winning simply because no one has time. This is not failure.

It is overwhelm.

And overwhelm is fixable.

Sekhmet delivers structure → strategy → calm.

The Rise of the Feminine Firewall

Across cyber, blockchain and AI, a quiet shift is underway. Women make up fewer than one-in-five cybersecurity professionals in the UK and only a fraction sit in senior roles. Yet they are more likely to hold advanced qualifications.

Call it inconvenient brilliance.

As the “hoodie-in-a-basement” cliché dissolves, feminine leadership is shaping cyber into something powerful: clear strategy, strong culture, cross-functional coordination and actual listening at board level.

Not performative.

Practical.

And it works.

Blockchain gets hyped like a cosmic riddle. Strip away the glitter and it is just a trust layer.

Women currently represent a modest slice of blockchain leadership, but those in the arena are steering it toward humanity, sustainability and system integrity. Less “number go up,” more “society stays standing.”

Not a feminist slogan. An operational advantage.

Feminine Leadership = Strategic Advantage

Female-led teams consistently outperform on risk-adjusted decision-making and cross-functional cohesion. In cybersecurity, where the adversary evolves hourly………… that is gold.

Feminine leadership blends intuition with structured inquiry, boldness with empathy and strategy with sustainability.

The outcome is security that is not just reactive… it is resilient. Fewer dashboard circus acts. More purposeful architecture.

Solar Tech • Blockchain Meets Cyber

At its core, blockchain’s superpowers are:

– Tamper-proof logs

– Verifiable identity

– Transparent supply chains

– No single point of failure

Think fraud-resistant infrastructure. Think identity that cannot be cheaply spoofed. Still early… but the trajectory is unmistakable.

The lioness studies the frontier before she leaps.

Green Cyber Watch • AI’s Appetite

AI is not just hungry for data…….. it is positively parched for energy. UK data centres already account for 2.5% of national electricity use. Forecasts suggest AI-driven compute could push that toward 6% by 2030, eventually pulling 35–50% of total data-centre energy over time.

Cyber-resilience now includes: data, identity, devices and energy.

If we want secure systems, we need secure energy architectures. Conscious design is the only sane future.

Tech in Practice –  November Quick Wins

Simple switches → serious shields.

• Enable conditional access

• Back up Microsoft 365 properly

• Retire SMS-based MFA

Small nudges. Big teeth.

Backup & Disaster Recovery – The Quiet Power Move

Cyber is step one. Backup and disaster recovery are step two… and they separate resilience from wishful thinking.

A sleek security stack without backup + DR is a very pretty house of cards.

The fail-safe is:

• cloud + off-site backup

• tested restore routines

• clear RTO + RPO • role-based response plans

Downtime costs real money. Reputational damage costs more. And the paperwork is unforgivable.

At Sekhmet we rig the lifeboats, chart the exit plan and test the storm before it hits.

Productivity + ROI ……….Why Tech Gets Stuck

Many sectors lag not due to lack of tech, but lack of integration, intention and time. Tools do not talk. Teams firefight. Leadership chases shiny objects. Meanwhile… productivity stalls.

The data lines up: When SMEs adopt the right AI + cyber tooling, productivity does not just improve…… it compounds. Less downtime. Better workflows. Smarter resourcing. Human time focused on value rather than “Where did that spreadsheet go?”

At Sekhmet, cyber is never a bolt-on. It is an enabler for ROI. Security that strengthens the business engine.

The UK Private Sector……. The Quiet Giant

The UK private sector is an under-sung powerhouse and SMEs are the national backbone: They make up 99.8% of businesses, employ most of the workforce and drive over half of all private-sector turnover.

While many jobs sit in sectors that do not traditionally generate growth, SMEs are quietly securing systems, investing in efficiency and building resilience.

Where the big players have budgets… SMEs have agility, community and conviction.

Supporting them is not charity It is national strategy.

Sekhmet stands shoulder-to-shoulder with them the bread-and-butter of British resilience.

Meet Sekhmet
